Ways to stay an active crewmate:

Service projects

Experience the powerful impact of service learning where students play leadership roles in projects to better their community. As a Lead State Agency for Global Youth Service Day, the state office has ideas, resources, connections and financial support to help you make a difference on:

  • 911 Day of Service-Sept 2024
  • Martin Luther King Day of Service- January 2025
  • Global Youth Service Day – Spring 2025

Build your group

The state is only as successful as it’s local chapters, take on a leadership role to build up your chapter. Work to increase the size and diversity of your membership. Connect with the state office and other experienced advisors for tips on marketing FCCLA to students, parents, school administration and fundraising strategies.

Strengthen your group

Work to create an engaged chapter by integrating FCCLA into the classroom, holding regular meetings, hosting state developed peer led trainings, participating in national programs and planning out your year.

Represent MN FCCLA in the media

Promote FCCLA on your own social media accounts, submit articles to local newspapers, post on your school’s website, and submit someone for the FCCLA Spotlight.

Take on an official leadership role

Run for Office in 2025! Running and holding an office provides students with a meaningful leadership role packed full of opportunities for personal and professional growth, As an officer, you will be able to network with other leaders and learn valuable lessons in teamwork. MN FCCLA is a student-led organization and needs your help to be its best version.

Apply your skills and knowledge in STAR Events

Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are Competitive Events in which members compete at the area, state, and national level and are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. There are more than 30 STAR Events students can choose to compete in, all which recognize participants who demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities to actively identify an issue concerning families, careers, or communities, research the topic, and develop and implement a project to advocate for positive change.

Attend Conferences and Events

Invest in yourself and connect with others at conferences and events at the area, state and national levels. Throughout the year there are ample opportunities to learn new skills, gain new knowledge and perspectives, discover new resources and network with fellow leaders.
