It is exciting to get a few teens together but 8400!?! Wow! That will be fun, exciting and a great experience! The National FCCLA Conference will be hosted in San Diego California. There will be many opportunities for MN members to experience cultural diversity, ethnic foods and customs and also hear many regional “accents” of the delegates from all over the nation.
Minnesota delegates will be participating in leadership training sessions, workshops and doing their competitive events. Over 186 people will be in the Minnesota delegation. We will have presenters in these STAR Events:
Advocacy, Career Investigation, Chapter in Review, Chapter Service, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Ambassador, Fashion Design, Focus on Children, Food Innovations, Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation, Illustrated Talks, Interior Design, Interpersonal Communication, Job Interview, Leadership, Life Event Planning, National Programs in Action, Parliamentary Procedure, Promote and Publicize, Recycle and Redesign, Sport Nutrition and Teach and Train.
The conference gives youth an opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn about potential careers and also to experience social skills of networking and appropriate behavior “away from home”.
We look forward to national award winning chapter recognition for Spring Lake Park HS and Wadena-Deer Creek HS as they cash in on the national awards of $500 and $1000 National Program Awards. We look forward to seeing the State Officer Team leading the MN delegation. We will celebrate a Membership Award for increasing membership. A special treat will be to watch our own Tatym Zins, a 2016 State Officer sing the National Anthem for which she was selected!
Way to go MN FCCLA members! We will celebrate the 4th of July with over 8000 of our FCCLA national family!
