Strategies for handling COVID-19 situation – Elliot

Posted by MN FCCLA | April 6, 2020 |

When you go from seeing your friends every weekday to not seeing them at all it can take a toll. So can going from going out every day to being stuck at home and from being able to sit in your favorite restaurant to not being able to go anymore. Although these can be hard on your mental health and stress levels, you have to take a step back and try and relieve this stress. I have a couple of ways to make you feel better.

1.     Watch a movie or binge a show
Although these seems simple and maybe dumb, watching something can take your mind off of your situation and transport you into a new land and help you become calm and peaceful.

2.     Play a game with family
Whether it is a board game, card game, dice game, or charades. You can take your mind away from things by playing a game and just having fun. This can make you laugh and have a ton of fun while building relationships with others

3.     Learn/do crafts and/or hobbies
This is an easy and fun way to occupy your time. You can learn a craft that you can then gift to a family member or friends or something you can use yourself. This is a simple way for you to stay mentally healthy and get through this tough time.
