Over 8500 attended the National FCCLA Conference which was held in San Diego California from July 2-9.
The Minnesota delegation was over 186 people. We celebrated many successes such as Student Body Program National Winner, Wadena Deer Creek with a “We Scare Hunger” project.
We celebrated as Spring Lake Park was runner up in Career Connections Program. We saw Spring Lake Park also be honored for a national winner in Lead2Feed service project efforts. We watched as state officer lead the Minnesota state meetings.
We observed a lively Business Session with new questions coming from members about the parliamentary procedure terms such as …What is to “postpone indefinitely” mean? What is a state caucus?
Besides meeting lots of youth from around the nation, trading pins and networking, learning about the culture and ethnic foods of southern California, delegates enjoyed leadership sessions, general session and some tourism to the San Diego Zoo, Coronado and Old Town San Diego.A learning experience for all. We enjoyed the pleasant weather of the San Diego bay area.
