FCCLA is known for being an organization that prepares you for the future in many ways, but how can you be sure you’re getting everything out of it that you can? Participation! Participation starts way before big things- such as the State or National Leadership Conferences. It begins with your chapter, whether that be running for chapter office, helping out your advisor and fellow chapter members, or organizing chapter events. Helping out at the chapter level is the surest way to build up connections with your community and open doors for further involvement. Almost as important as chapter involvement is area involvement. Whether it be serving as an Area Officer or Peer Educator, working within your area to boost membership is a sure way to hone the skills you’ve gained through your experience in your chapter. Bring together the skills you’ve harnessed at any level to utilize in your STAR Event and reach success at any level! Success begins with you. Start the school year off strong by talking to your advisor and learning how you can be engaged in your chapter this year.
