Resilience & Positive Energy – Hailey V.

Posted by MN FCCLA | April 9, 2020 |

What Has FCCLA Taught You About Being Resilient?

“My time as a member and officer in FCCLA has taught me many things- including resilience. As a member doing STAR Events, I had to learn how to take notes from evaluators after presenting, and continue to work hard on my event so that I could get to Nationals, and I did. As an officer, my team has gone through a lot of challenges this year, and we have all had to work harder to become better leaders to handle the situations thrown at us as a result. The challenges I have faced in FCCLA have shown me that I can get through any situation, as long as I am determined to be my best. Being resilient isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something learned, and I believe all members will be able to learn from this experience, and better themselves for the future. Stay safe, and be resilient!”

How Does Positive Energy Affect Your Health, Energy, and Goals or Results?

“Having a positive attitude not only helps your mental health, but it also benefits your physical health. Thinking positively can be very difficult for teens this generation. All we see on social media are negative influences, attitudes and even our jokes are negative- it’s become the norm. If we can take this difficult time to focus on ourselves and turn this negative situation into a positive, it will make it easier to cope with. For example, instead of feeling that the only thing to do during this quarantine is to lay in bed, eat, and watch Netflix all day, get up and find a project to pursue, or work out/ do yoga to feel accomplished/relaxed. By being productive and positive, you can give yourself goals to reach, which will give you another reason to get out of bed. Think positively!”
