LEADERSHIP SERVICE IN ACTION

is the new name for “Community Service”.

Hey everyone!  This is your Vice President of Community Service, Breann, with some BIG news…  The title of a National FCCLA Program called Community Service has shifted its title to Leadership Service in Action but the purposes have remained the same.  Student leaders will still organize events to help better their neighborhood while at the same time fulfilling family, career and community roles.  In addition, students will incorporate Service Learning into your programs by educating others on the needs and the difference that you are truly making.

With that being said, I have a few ideas for groups you can help with this upcoming month.

October is the home to Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Dogs playingNational Diabetes Month, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  There are also many other days this month that you could tie along with the Leadership Service in Action National Program. Do Something Nice Day is on October 5th, World Smile Day is October7th, World Pasta Day is October 25th, and Make a Difference Day is October 26th.

Make sure to celebrate these days and make a positive impact and difference in your community! Have fun, go out, and serve!
