Get ready for Global Youth Service Day in 2023

Posted by Wendy | December 15, 2022 |

Written by Calleigh Richards-MN FCCLA State Secretary

With the Holiday seasonupon us, many people are reminded of the importance of giving to others. One easy way to give is to get involved in community service! While you can participate in community service year-round, FCCLA encourages all members to get involved in April for Global Youth Service Day. Global Youth Service Day is an event sponsored by Youth Service America in coordination with FCCLA. The event encourages members from across the country to get involved.

It can be overwhelming trying to figure out how to get involved in your community. The best thing about giving back is there are so many ways to do so! You can participate at your house, with friends, or even with your entire school. A few ways you can volunteer on your own include: writing letters to children’s hospitals, sending a care package to a soldier, or donating your voice to people with speech impairments. Or if you prefer to get involved with others you can: get involved at a local pet shelter, help a local food shelf, or raise money for a non-profit organization in your area. The opportunities to get involved are endless! MN FCCLA encourages you to get involved this April for Global Youth Service Day.
