Peer Education Team positions

A peer education team is selected by a process of application and interview at the annual state conference. An application is available early in the year for candidates. Peer Educators meet together in July and November each year. They are coordinated by a state officer for working together on National Programs. Peer Educators present a round table workshop for their Region Conferences and do a joint project at the State Conference.

Peer educators know they make a positive difference in their own lives and the lives of others. Being a peer educator gives you the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about topics and issues that concern you
  • Make positive changes in your own life
  • Help peers make positive choices
  • Learn to communicate well
  • Make new friends
  • Be a leader
  • Prepare for your future
  • Have fun!

Your role as an FCCLA peer educator is to learn and share ideas, information, and examples. Peer educators:

    • Gather and analyze information about concerns and issues
    • Teach peers about issues
    • Learn where young people can find out more and get help with problems
    • Model positive choices
